Nnamdi Kenneth OjIbe, Ken, is a software engineer at Recidiviz and a researcher at the Community Informatics Lab and the Virginia government’s Commonwealth Cyber Initiative. He focuses on smart cities, media, and civic tech, having managed and developed solutions for The New York Times, Disney, IBM, and Boston government’s Urban Mechanics through the Google Summer of Code. A two-time U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Awardee, his commitment to social good runs deep.
Outside tech, you can find Ken in marathons, at dance studios, with a book, or (obsessively) organizing his life with spreadsheets and Notion. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Design Thinking from George Mason University. Essentially, Kenneth fuses software engineering with a passion for civic solutions and life's vibrant rhythms
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is essential to our mission. People come to Recidiviz to contribute to an urgent cause, and to work alongside incredible coworkers who care as much as they do. To ensure that we’re building intentional products and amplifying the work of others in the reform ecosystem, we are committed to fostering a diverse team that reflects the people we serve.
We combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and has since grown into one of the brightest, kindest teams that civic tech has to offer. Our north star: safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
