Genesia Ting is a Senior Product Designer at Recidiviz. She started her professional journey designing for the Census Bureau’s Open Innovation Labs, and has since built products at the Los Angeles Times, Mapbox, International Rescue Committee, City of Oakland, and other civic tech organizations. Her most recent tenure was at a small San Francisco-based design firm – where she led research and design efforts for clients within cloud-based data software, complex 911-emergency operations, telecommunications networks, and e-commerce platforms. She holds a B.A. in Design from University of California, Davis. In her free time, you can find Genesia exploring different hole-in-the-wall restaurants, tending to her plants, or shivering anywhere that is colder than Los Angeles (her hometown).
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is essential to our mission. People come to Recidiviz to contribute to an urgent cause, and to work alongside incredible coworkers who care as much as they do. To ensure that we’re building intentional products and amplifying the work of others in the reform ecosystem, we are committed to fostering a diverse team that reflects the people we serve.
We combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and has since grown into one of the brightest, kindest teams that civic tech has to offer. Our north star: safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
