Annie Schachar is a state engagement manager at Recidiviz. Previously, Annie was a director on the technical assistance team at the Center for Justice Innovation, working with jurisdictions around the country to develop their problem-solving court systems. Before that, Annie was a public defender and a prosecutor (consecutively, not concurrently!). She loves tomatoes and tabletop gaming. Never as crafty as she aspires to be, Annie has been working on the same cross-stitch of a pink tiger for the past three years. She holds a B.A. in criminology from the University of Toronto and a J.D. from York University.
A diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is essential to our mission. People come to Recidiviz to contribute to an urgent cause, and to work alongside incredible coworkers who care as much as they do. To ensure that we’re building intentional products and amplifying the work of others in the reform ecosystem, we are committed to fostering a diverse team that reflects the people we serve.
We combine the efficiency of a tech company with the heart of a non-profit. Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google and has since grown into one of the brightest, kindest teams that civic tech has to offer. Our north star: safely and fairly shrinking the criminal justice system.
