Jamie Gates

Jamie Gates is a Co-Founder and Partner of Sixth Street based in San Francisco, focusing on capital formation and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Sixth Street, Mr. Gates was a partner of TPG Capital from 1995 and a member of that firm’s leadership committees, focused on corporate strategy and formation of new businesses within the TPG brand. Previously, he was a Partner and Executive Vice President of Starwood Capital Group, L.P., a real estate investment firm based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Mr. Gates worked in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs and served as an Executive Director in its London office beginning in 1987.  Mr. Gates graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Law. He received a B.S., with distinction, from DePauw University. He is currently involved with a select number of non-profit and biotechnology initiatives in their early stages of formation.
